Selangor PKNS Stay Top After Trouncing Post Malaysia 7-0

PETALING JAYA: Selangor PKNS stayed ahead at the top of the table when they trounced Pos Malaysia 7-0 in the Premier League at the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council Stadium here on Monday.
The victory enabled Selangor PKNS to accumulate 27 points by maintaining their unbeaten run from 11 matches and six points clear of their closest rivals, Sime Darby.

Selangor PKNS opened scoring from the first whistle through Mohd Irme Mat, who capitalised on lapses on Pos Malaysia’s defence.

P Rajesh added another goal with a stinging shot nine minutes later, followed Mohd Khairul Akhyar, who connected a cross in the 22nd minute.

Relented under pressure, Pos Malaysia scored an owned goal in the 31st minute when captain Muhamad Faizal Nasir deflected a goal from a shot from the left of the penalty box by Selangor PKNS’ Mohd Irme Mat’s.
Selangor PKNS added another goal with a header from Ahmad Tarmini Saiban in the 44th minute to lead 5-0 at half time.
 After the breather, the hosts continued to dominate the game with Mohd Azrif Nasruhaq scoring three minutes after half time before Mohd Khairul sealed the issue beyond doubt in the 57th minute.

In Selayang, Sime Darby shot down Armed Forces’ hopes to remain on the second rung of the table by beating them 3-0 at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium. With the victory, Sime Darby moved to second spot from the sixth position after collecting 21 points while Armed Forces dropped to the fourth place with 20 points.

In Johor Bahru, Johor beat Sarawak 2-0 at the Tan Sri Datuk Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium while in Negeri Sembilan, the police beat SDM Navy 3-0 at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium.

In Penang, USM FC were edged 2-3 by MP Muar at the USM Stadium while Penang were held to a scoreless  draw   by Harimau Muda B at the Batu Kawan Stadium. — Bernama
