MSNS To Produce Footballers For The State
MSNS director Francis Nyurang Ding said the state team formation was a joined effort with the Sarawak Football Association (FAS).
“At the mean time, we have already placed a development programme for the under-12 football players,” he said during a press conference, held at the MSNS office here, yesterday.
According to Francis, there are currently 33 football development centres through out the whole state.
With that, he is hoping that Sarawak will be able to produce more potential players in the near future.
“We will be very grateful if each of the centres can produce potential players who are to be placed under the talented athlete centre,” he added.
Meanwhile, Francis also told the reporters that there would be a southern inter-zone tournament to be held starting from July 1-7. The tournament would be jointly organized with Kuching Division Education Office.
He added that the northern inter-zone tournament in Miri would kick-off on July 8-14 while the central zone (Sibu) is on July 15-21. A total of 10 secondary schools from all the three zones had been participating in the development programme which had entered second season.
The schools are SMK St Joseph, SMK St Thomas, SMK Bandar Semariang, SMK Matang Jaya, SMK Tebedu, SMK Siburan (southern zone), SMK Bawang Assan, and SMK Kanowit (central zone), SMK Lutong and SMK Merbau (northern zone).
Among those present during the press conference were the MSNS Football Development Project director Lucas Kallang and Alan Vest the technical director.
