“The new song will replace the old version that we used to play in the 80’s prior to the Crocs game at night. The rhythm of the song will be a bit different but some of the lines in the lyrics may be maintained,” he said.
This new song will represent the spirit of 2011 Crocs squad and are expected to be tuned by the two established state’s football fan club.
Abu Bakar said the two fan clubs – on being the Sarawak Football Fan Club led by Peter Moni Selat – will be rallying behind to the Crocs for the new season.
“Both fan clubs have spoken to FAS president, Datu Sudarsono Osman, and they are aiming to do the same thing, that is to work closely between each other and FAS to back the players and the management as well as to attract more crowd and supporters to join the rally this season.”
Abu added that the as part of the initial plan before the season kicks off, the two fan clubs have joined hands to compose the new Ngap Sayot Song. He also revealed that the major sponsor for the Crocs, FAS FMG Sdn Bhd will also working together with Lea Sports Centre to come out with the paraphernalia for the team.
“We will be replicating the new Crocs jersey for Fan clubs, corporate figures and the public to purchase to show their support to the Crocs. Through this, it can generate income to for the fan clubs to organise more activities and to recruit more membership drive,” he said.
Abu added that apart from that, the association also will set up booths outside the stadium before the games starts and things like jerseys, banners, scarves, key chains and others may be available for purchase.
“We are going to make sure that this season will be the right moment to get back to top flight. With all the support given form all sectors, the possibility of success is there for us to achieve,” added Abu.
Sarawak will kick off the 2011 Premier League against Pulau Pinang at Bandaraya Stadium before facing Harimau Muda and SDM Navy at Sarawak Stadium.
